Just a note to let you know what has happened during the first 100 days of the new board.
We promised we would get all the projects that were either put on hold or voted on but forgotten about completed as quickly as possible.
Here is a recap of what we’ve accomplished since November 6, 2020:
- A flag pole has been installed at the main entrance with a spotlight so it can fly after dark.
- The Exeter website (scheduled back in January 2019) has been set up with current information being posted; financial information, meeting notes, documents and more.
Sign-up is free at ExeterAssociation.com - A new air conditioner and a small TV have been installed in the guard house. The old AC unit was not working.
- In the past, we have had guests leaving cars at the pool for a week or more while going on vacations. This created limited parking for residents wishing to use the pool facilities. Signs (scheduled back in 2019) have now been posted: “NO OVERNIGHT PARKING ALLOWED”.
- An automatic door opener (scheduled back in 2019) was added to one of the pool bathrooms, making it accessible for people with scooters / walkers to use the facilities.
- Warning signs were posted along the lake shore regarding alligators being in the water and to be mindful when walking in that location.
- Two permanent parking spots were set up for the guards so they won’t have to block the exit turn-around at our gate house.
- Roof repairs are being made at the guard house preventing critters from nesting in the roof and building.
- Along both sides of the roadway as well as the East and West entrances, annual flowers have been added to give some color along the roadway entrance and exit of our property.
- Over a year ago, our pool heater was wired incorrectly. This has now been corrected.
- All lawn sprinkler electrical boxes have been changed so water will not get in them and the wiring won’t short out.
- A sprinkler pump station is being repaired as well as adding a cover to it so rain / sprinkler water won’t get in and rust the motor or electrical timer box.
- All electrical timers for our entrance palm trees have been replaced. All trees should go on and off approximately at the same time.
- A contract has been signed to remove the dying Ficus bushes along the roadway. They will be replaced with 7 gallon Clusia plants. Work should start around March 1, 2021.
- THE GATE HOUSE IS NOW FULLY FUNCTIONAL AND NO LONGER CAN GUESTS SIMPLY SAY THE MAGIC WORDS “GRANVILLE” AND ENTER OUR PROPERTY. We expect some minor problems since not all residents fully understand the dwelling live procedure to allow guests to enter.TO ALL EXETER RESIDENTS: WE THANK EVERYONE FOR THEIR COOPERATION AND PATIENCE IN GETTING DWELLING LIVE UP AND RUNNING.
TWO OPEN PROJECTS THAT NEED TO BE COMPLETED:
- We have met with 5 roadway companies to mill and asphalt our roads. We’re working to pick the right contractor that will do the best job at the best price that can meet our needs. We can’t lock down our property for days. We need the job done so residents can drive on the roadway as quickly as possible.
- Tree timing: We have selected one contractor that will do the job for approximately $9,000 LESS then we paid last year. We are still working with another contractor (with similar savings) just in case the first company is unable to do the work for our Association when we want it done.
